Kucing adalah Hewan Nokturnal
Imut-imut begitu ternyata kucing adalah hewan noktural. Dari kodrat alam, kucing memang akan aktif saat malam hari. Apapun jenis kucing, dari alam sebenarnya ia hewan nokturnal. Tetapi pola itu memang sedikit berbeda saat ia menjadi hewan peliharaan.
Karena aktif pada malam hari, ia dianugerahi mata yang jauh lebih baik dari manusia. Dalam kondisi gelap dan minim cahaya, kucing tetap bisa melihat. Berbeda dengan manusia ya guys yang tidak bisa melihat saat gelap. Itulah kelebihan kucing.
Mata Kucing Memantulkan Cahaya
Ketika muncul cahaya, pastilah ada sumbernya. Lalu darimana sumber cahaya dari mata kucing? Padahal ruangannya kan gelap?
Kucing memiliki jaringan bernama tapedum lucidum. Tidak hanya kucing saja yang punya, hewan lain pun memilikinya. Jaringan ini terletak di belakang retina dan bola mata yang melapisi keduanya.
Nah, organ ini berfungsi untuk memantulkan cahaya yang tidak diserap oleh retina kucing. Retina kucing berusaha menangkap cahaya di ruangan gelap, sedang yang tidak terserap akan dipantulkan.
Cahaya yang selama ini kamu lihat adalah pantulan dari retina kucing. Yang berasal dari cahaya yang tidak diserap retina tadi.
Terlihat Bersinar dan Menyeramkan
Mungkin bagi kamu yang tidak akrab dengan kucing, pastilah kamu akan takut. Tetapi hal itu normal saja. Ya memang sudah kehendak dari alam begitu.
Biasanya lebih sering terlihat pada malam hari. Atau siang hari bisa pula tetapi di ruangan gelap saja yang cahayanya sangat terbatas. Kamu bisa memeriksa kekuatan mata kucing dengan mengajaknya di tempat gelap.
Warna Pantulan Berbeda-Beda
Warna pantulan itu tidak selalu sama ternyata. Terkadang tiap kucing memiliki warna pantulan sendiri-sendiri. Entah itu berbeda karena apa tetapi begitulah faktanya guys!
Biasanya warna pantulan itu berwarna kuning atau hijau. Tetapi ada juga yang memantulkan cahaya berwarna merah. Kalau kucingmu memiliki warna pantulan apa guys?
