Kamu tahu tidak, ternyata kucing mampu membuat lebih dari 100 suara berbeda lho! Jumlah ini jauh lebih banyak daripad anjing. Karena anjing hanya mampu membuat 10 jenis suara.
Ketika masih kecil, kucing suka mengeong kepada induk untuk berkomunikasi. Tetapi ketika sudah dewasa, kebiasaan mengeong kepada sesama kucing mulai berkurang. Kucing tak lagi suka mengeong kepada teman maupun saudaranya.

Pernah tidak kamu melihat kucing berada di tempat ketinggian dan tidak bisa turun? Kira-kira apa yang ia lakukan? Yap, ia mengeong terus-terusan seakan meminta untuk dibantu turun.

Ketika kucing mengeong, manusia akan merespons dengan segera. Karena mereka memiliki insting, ia tahu bahwa perhatian akan ia dapatkan setelah mengeong. Alhasil ketika ingin sesuatu, kucing pasti mengeong.
Sebab setelah itu manusia pasti merespons. Dengan kemampuannya ia mampu merekam dan melakukan hal sama. Wah, meski suka tidur ternyata cerdas juga ya si kucing ini.
Mengeong Bukanlah Bahasa Komunikasi
Mengeong tidak memiliki terjemahan dalam bahasa tertentu. Jadi kalau mereka mengeong, kucing murni hanya ingin meminta sesuatu yang mereka inginkan. Entah itu makanan, minuman, diperhatikan, dan berbagai hal favorit kucing.
Ketika kamu membalas suara mereka dengan mengeong juga, ia sama sekali tidak mengerti arti dari suaramu. Karena suara meong itu tidak punya arti. Ya memang dengan cara itu kucing mampu mendapatkan apa yang ia inginkan.
