Merawat kucing pada dasarnya hampir sama antara satu jenis dengan lainnya, guys! Nggak susah asal kamu perhatikan langkah-langkahnya dengan tepat!

Memandikan Kucing British Shorthair
Sama dengan kucing lain, sebelum memandikan kucing siapkan dulu peralatannya, seperti sisir, shampo, bedak, air hangat, dan handuk, serta bak tempat mandi atau air dari pancuran. Hairdyer juga perlu disiapkan untuk mengeringkan bulu kucing.
Tambahan bedak, odol, dan sikat gigi khusus kucing kamu harus siapkan pula.
Eluslah terlebih dahulu bagian punggung kucing agar merasa nyaman. Sebelum mandi, sisirlah bulunya biar nggak menggumpal dan kusut ketika dibasahi.
Setelah itu, basahi bagian perut dan kaki dengan air hangat biar kucing nggak kaget.
Barulah kemudian kamu membasahi bagian tubuh lain, mulai dari kepala, punggung, dan ekor. Bagian wajah dapat dibasahi paling akhir.
Saat basah seluruh bagian tubuh, lumuri dengan shampo khusus kucing yang sudah kamu pilih. Gosok bagian dekat mulut dan telinga, selain menggosok bagian tubuh.
Bilaslah kucing dengan air hangat ditempat yang berbeda agar bersih. Sambil dibilas, kucing dapat sambil dipijat agar lebih sehat.
Menyisir Kucing British Shorthair
Menyisir kucing shorthair sebagai bagian dari ritual setelah mandi.
Kucing yang telah dimandikan dapat dikeringkan dengan handuk. Agar lebih cepat, kamu bisa menggunakan hairdryer dengan kecepatan kecil biar nggak terlalu panas.
Keringkan seluruh bagian tubuh secara merata.
Setelah kering, kamu dapat membedaki seluruh bagian kucing.
Ritual membedaki dengan bedak khusus kucing dapat kamu lakukan sebelum menyisir rambutnya di saat lain juga.
Bedak membuat kotoran dan lemak terangkat.
Sementara menyisir rambut kucing dapat membuat bulunya halus dan indah. Dengan disisir, bulu atau rambut mati juga dapat terangkat.
Menggsosok Gigi
Khusus bagi kucing british shorthair kamu harus rajin menggosok giginya dengan odol khusus kucing. Odol ini beraroma tuna yang sangat disukai. Khas kucing banget deh pokoknya odol ini!
Untuk sikat gigi, pilihlah yang bulu sikatnya pendek.
Apa gunanya menggosok gigi bagi kucing ini? Menggosok gigi mengurangi resiko masalah gusi, khusunya peradangan.
Memberi Makan
Memberi makan kucing british shorthair hampir sama dengan kucing lain. Harus memenuhi nutrisi tertentu.
Saat kucing masih anak, sebaiknya kamu memberinya makanan basah. Umumnya makanan ini mengandung lemak tinggi agar pertumbuhan lebih optimal.
Jika kucing sudah berusia lebih dari setahun, kamu dapat memberinya jenis makanan kering. Makanan kering mengandung protein dan serat untuk menjaga berat badan dan rabut kucing.
Hmmm.. Kucing juga nggak boleh terlalu gemuk alias obesitas juga. Kalau nggak, sama dengan manusia mereka dapat terkena berbagai masalah organ tubuh seperti diabetes dan jantung.
Menyiapkan tempat makan juga bagian dari perawatan. Siapkanlah beberapa pasang tempat makan dan minum sekaligus agar dapat digunakan secara bergantian saat dicuci.
Menyiapkan Pembuangan Kotoran
Kalau kamu nggak mau kucing buang kotoran di sembarang tempat, kamu harus menyiapkan tempatnya.
Kucing suka buang kotoran di pasir.
Jadi,belilah pasir dengan baknya dengan ketinggian tidak lebih dari 2 inci. Kucing british shorhair tidak suka pasir yang tebal.
Letakkan bak pasir di tempat yang berajauhan dengan tempat makan dan tenang.
Jangan lupa, membersihkan tempat ini beberapa hari sekali.
Menyiapkan dan Membersihkan Kandang
Terakhir, bagian dari perawatan adalah kandang. Siapkan kandang yang beralaskan kayu agar bulu tidak menempel.
Letakkan kandang jauh dari kebisingan dan hewan lain agar kucing dapat tenang.
Bersihkan pula kandang beberapa hari sekali agar terjaga kesehatannya.
