Kucing Persia, sesuai dengan namanya berasal dari Persia atau Iran.
Tahukah kamu guys, kucing ini telah dikenal sejak ratusan tahun lalu? Tepatnya sekitar tahun 1620. Tapi baru banyak dikenal di dunia sekitar tahun 1871 ketika mulai dikembangkan di Amerika Serikat.
Sikapnya yang tenang dan bersahabat, wajah bulat chubby, bulu yang lebat dan panjang membuat banyak orang menyukai. Akibatnya, kucing ini banyak dipelihara di Amerika Serikat.
So. apa hubungannya dengan jenis kucing Persia? Ada dong guys, di Amerika Serikat kucing ini mulai berkembang jenisnya ketika dikawainkan dengan berbagai jenis kucing lain.
Di Indonesia, kucing yang dalam Bahasa Inggris disebut Persian Longhair ini juga sangat disukai.
Dan ini dia, 4 jenis kucing Persia paling polpuler!
Kucing Jenis Himalaya
Kamu sudah tahu dong kalau kebanyakan kucing Persia berhidung pendek alias pesek.
Tapi, khusus jenis yang satu ini hidungnya nampak sedikit lebih panjang alias punya bentuk. Wajah kucing Himalaya jadi nggak terlalu datar.
Keunikan kucing Persia jenis Himalaya terletak pada warnanya. Warna yang disebut sebagai color point.
Seluruh badan kucing punya warna dasar coklat muda atau putih. Namun, di salah satu bagiannya misalnya wajah, atau ekor, atau kaki, atau lainnya berwarna hitam.
Kucing Himalaya dapat hidup sampai 15 tahun dan mempunyai berat badan sekitar 4 sampai 6 Kg. Wah lumayan juga ya?
Sst.. Kamu yang menyukai ketenangan akan sangat cocok dengan kucing tenang Himalaya. Dia lebih suka tiduran dan tidak suka berlarian, apalagi menarik-narik gorden rumah.
Kucing Jenis Flatnose
Sesuai dengan namanya, flatnose atau si hidung datar. Kucing ini memang pesek. Selain itu, hidung kucing Persia Flatnose juga kecil. Letaknya sejajar dengan mata. Hampir tidak terlihat di tengah bulunya yang lebat.
Kucing jenis Flatnose termasuk paling populer di Amrika Serikat dan punya harga cukup mahal. Wajahnya yang sedikit kotak dan chubby akan nampak lucu ketika bermain.
Ya, kucing Flatnose sangat suka bermain dan melompati barang-barang di dalam rumah. Kamu harus hati-hati. Kucing ini lebih menyukai kebisingan dibandingkan Himalaya.
Ciri khas Flatnose adalah telinga yang kecil meruncing dan berjarak cukup jauh kanan dan kiri. Selain itu, kucing ini tampak lebih pendek justru karena mempunyai kaki lebih panjang.
Kucing Jenis Medium
Jenis kucing Persia ketiga yang populer di Indonesia adalah jenis Medium. Hidungnya sedikit lebih mancung dari jenis lain dan punya bulu yang sangat lebat. Mungkin kalau diukur, panjang bulu mencapai 10 cm.
Ada dua jenis kucing Medium yang dikenal, Longhair dan shorthair. Kamu pasti tahu dong perbedannnya?
Ya, kucing Persia jenis Medium Longhair punya bulu sangat panjang. Lebih panjang dari jenis shorthair.
Kucing ini tergolong paling murah harganya dibandingkan jenis lain.
Kucing Jenis Peaknose
Dilihat dari namanya, kucing ini sama dengan Flatnose. Punya hidung yang pendek atau pesek. Bahkan, bisa dibilang lebih pesek daripada Flatnose.
Karena hidung yang sangat pendek, jika nampak samping wajah kuncing Peaknose akan nampak datar. Nggak ada satu pun tonjolan di wajahnya.
Peaknose yang terlihat rata bagian wajahnya disebut dengan Peaknose Ekstrim.
Tapi jangan salah lho! Ternyata, semakin pesek kucing Persia harganya semakin mahal.
Kucing Persia jenis Peaknose paling mahal. Harga kucing dewasanya mencapai 12 juta!
